The 7 Deadly Roadblocks to Success

You want to start an Internet business, but it hasn’t happened yet. What can you do to set yourself up for success? You can figure out what’s holding you back and take steps to overcome these common but deadly roadblocks.

Let me tell you about what is keeping you from achieving success. Here are the 7 Deadly Roadblocks to Success.

Roadblock #1: A Lack Of Goals

If you sit down at your computer with the Internet connected but no goals, you will most likely end up surfing aimlessly (Been there, done that). This takes a long time.

Decide what you want to accomplish, be as specific as possible, and post copies of it all over your house so you don’t forget to read it at least 5 times a day. Your mind will begin to believe them and if you take active steps to achieve them, they will no longer be out of reach.

Roadblock #2: Insufficient Amount Of Money

Okay, for some, this will be a genuine factor, but for the vast majority of us, there is a vice or an activity we can give up, such as smoking, the occasional bottle of wine, or an aerobics class.

Most of us will be able to find something to give up or reduce in order to get started in the few months it takes. The Internet provides so many free resources and is the cheapest way to start a business these days, so fasten your seat belts or give up a vice and come along for the ride.

Roadblock #3: No Research

This one is the most deadly of all the roadblocks. Because even if you believe you have a product idea, there is no guarantee of success unless you are absolutely certain there is a market for it.

You can solicit their feedback if you have a list. Alternatively, go to one of the many forums and ask for people’s opinions to test the water. Don’t create a product and squander precious resources unless you’re certain there’s a market for it. Even better, create the product after you’ve researched a market and determined what they want.

Roadblock #4: Being Afraid Of Failing

You’ve most likely heard it before, but do you believe Einstein got it right the first time? Do you believe that any inventor gets it right the first time? In some cases, I’m sure it takes 100's, if not 1000's of attempts before Eureka. Failures occur to teach us lessons, so don’t be afraid of them or give up if one occurs.

Sit down, learn your lessons and move on to your next plan of action with a clear head.

Roadblock #5: Information Overload

As an online marketer, this one is well known to me! You get so many marketing ideas and methods in your head that they all merge and make your mind completely confused and you can’t think of a single straight idea.

The solution is to focus on one thing at a time. Try it out, and if it doesn’t work, move on. And once you’ve found something that works, stick with it and master it.

Then you can try something new, but only if you want to. It is preferable to be excellent at one thing rather than mediocre at many. You could also try following one or two gurus. There are no limits to the possibilities.

Roadblock #6: Procrastination

This is the one thing you should not become an expert at! Tomorrow never arrives. Don’t put things off that you can do today. Do something every day to move you closer to your objectives.

I understand that soap operas and television in general can be very entertaining, but imagine what you could accomplish if you spent that time making significant amounts of money on the Internet. The possibilities are endless.

Roadblock #7: Other People’s Views

Don’t let anyone put you down, whether it’s your partner, boss, kids, friends, neighbors or acquaintances. If you want to succeed, it is entirely up to you.

Maintain your focus and don’t budge, no matter what the daily grind throws at you. You can and will succeed. Live the life you desire. If you want to work from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and are content, by all means do so. If that is not the case, it is up to you to take action. Today, the Internet is your oyster, so go find some pearls.

I hope this article was of some use to you and I hope you can achieve all your dreams and goals in life. Good luck!!!
