5 Reasons Why I Started Video Marketing Introduction
How do you feel about video marketing? In my experience, it’s one of the most powerful tools available to marketers today. I’ve seen an increase in my site traffic every month since I started using video marketing, and I also know that these videos have helped me connect with new customers who would not have found me otherwise.
Video marketing offers so many benefits
Here are just 5 reasons why I started using video marketing to promote my business.
Video Marketing is Great for Extra Income
If you’re working full-time, building a side business can be stressful and time consuming. Creating videos helps me make money while doing something I enjoy! Not only do I enjoy it, but my viewers really like watching my videos too!
Here are my reasons why video marketing is great for extra income
- You Can Make Money While Doing Something You Enjoy: As I mentioned above, video marketing is great because you can create videos while doing something you enjoy! If you have a passion for creating videos, it will show in your work. This will not only help your viewers connect with your brand more easily, but they’ll also want to support what you’re creating because they feel connected to it. And when people feel connected to what you’re creating or selling, they’re more likely to buy from you.
- Video Marketing Is Easy To Scale: Video marketing is easy to scale. If you know how to use basic video editing software, you can quickly learn how to edit videos on YouTube so that anyone can watch them. Once your videos are posted online, there’s no limit as to how many people can see them!
- Video Marketing Is A Great Way To Learn New Skills: Video marketing is a great way to learn new skills! When I first started making videos for my channel, I had never edited anything before in my life. But now that I’ve created over 90 videos for my channel, I’ve learned so much about video editing and video creation along the way!
- People Love Watching Videos Online: People love watching videos online. In fact, video content has increased by around 500% since 2013! The numbers don’t lie , people love videos online. That means if you start using video marketing, your audience is going to grow faster than ever before!
- Video Marketing Will Help Your Brand Stand Out: Video marketing will help your brand stand out. Because of its popularity right now, video content has become one of the most important parts of any successful digital strategy. If you’re looking for an edge against competitors who aren’t using video in their strategy yet, then video marketing could be exactly what you need to set yourself apart from everyone else.
Video Posts Are More Likely To Get Shared
Videos are an easy way to catch someone’s attention, and they’re more likely to get shared on social media than any other type of content. For example, YouTube has over a billion unique users every month, many of whom share videos through their own social channels.
YouTube is by far one of your best options for video marketing because it’s free and offers more advanced features. And if you don’t want to create videos yourself (or pay someone else to do it), there are plenty of cost-effective options like Animoto that will do most of the heavy lifting for you.
When creating videos, remember that less is more and keep them short and sweet. If you have too much information or not enough time to explain something in detail, consider hiring a professional videographer or animator. It might be expensive up front but it’ll be worth it in terms of exposure later on down the road.
When you do decide to make your own videos, keep these tips in mind:
Record high quality audio: Don’t just use your smartphone microphone; invest in a decent mic with noise cancellation capabilities so that you can speak clearly and avoid unwanted background noise. You can also use noise cancellation software such as Audacity or GarageBand to clean up your audio before uploading it to YouTube. Just be sure to save a backup copy!
Make sure your lighting is even: Avoid shadows and glare by adjusting your room’s lighting or using a lamp. A little bit of light goes a long way towards making you look good on camera. Use closeups instead of wide shots. This will help viewers focus on what you’re saying rather than being distracted by all the extra visual noise around you.
Keep things simple, clear and direct: Think about how much information people need to know about your product or service in order to understand why they should buy it from you instead of from another company and then tell them only that amount!
Be careful with humor: Humor works well in some situations, but usually doesn’t translate well online. Stick to straightforward messaging instead of wisecracks and puns.
Be consistent and persistent: The biggest mistake people make when trying to market themselves via video is giving up after posting just one or two videos without seeing results. To build a following, you need to post regularly, ideally at least once per week, so that your audience knows exactly where to find new content from you each week. If possible, try scheduling posts ahead of time so that you always have fresh material coming out automatically each week without having to think about it constantly.
Videos Rank Higher In Google
Back in 2014, Google changed its algorithm so that you’d rank higher in search results if you have video content on your site. Two years later, Google announced it would even show videos by default on some SERP’s (that’s Search Engine Results Pages for those who aren’t familiar with SEO terminology).
What does that mean? It means people are searching for videos to answer their questions about products and services instead of just reading articles. And when they find what they want in a video rather than an infographic or news story, they tend to watch and pay attention longer.
In fact, according to Cisco reports , 92% of employees learn best through video. So there is great potential to increase sales if you make marketing videos available on your website!
Video Makes It Easier To Explain Complicated Information
When information is too complicated to explain in simple terms, it’s much easier to explain using a visual medium like video. With video, you don’t have to worry about your readers getting lost.
They can watch and listen at their own pace and re-watch sections as many times as necessary to understand what you’re saying. If that same type of information were presented in text form without a visual component, you might not be able to effectively communicate all that complex knowledge.
Videos Keep Viewers Engaged
This year, online videos will account for 69% of all consumer internet traffic. More and more people are tuning in every day: 64% of viewers who watched a video in a website’s homepage converted to customers. In addition, 65% of B2B companies that use videos to promote their products increased their leads over the past year.
If you want to engage your customers on a deeper level, it’s time to start using video marketing.
Final Thoughts
First, we need to look at why traditional marketing works. It’s all about your prospect and their buying cycle. That’s where a sales funnel comes in. In traditional marketing, you move your prospects from one point of interest to another until they finally reach a purchase decision (normally your website).
The psychology behind that is based on simple human nature: we want to learn new things and when we’re not forced, we’ll choose what interests us most, there are very few people who are interested in ALL things!
Thank you for reading my article. Now you can see why I chose to begin video marketing. I have been marketing online using several different forms to promote my business, hope this information can help you get started!
